Saskatchewan Marriage Licence Issuer

If you're planning to get legally married in Saskatchewan, you will need a Marriage Licence issued by an authorized Marriage Licence Issuer. As a Notary Public in Regina, I am licensed to issue marriage licences in the province of Saskatchewan.

Marriage licences are issued by appointment only.

What You Need to Bring:

To obtain a marriage licence, the following is required:

  • Both parties must be present at the time of the appointment.

    • If one party cannot attend, they must complete an Affidavit of Non-Attendance, which must be sworn before a Commissioner for Oaths or Notary Public.

  • Two valid pieces of government-issued ID for each person
    – at least one must be a photo ID (e.g., driver’s licence, passport, provincial ID card)

  • If either person was previously married, you must also provide:

    • Proof of divorce: the Divorce Certificate (not the court judgment), or

    • Proof of death of a former spouse (e.g., death certificate)

Additional Information:

  • Cost: $60 CAD (payable at the time of appointment)

  • Validity: The licence is valid for 90 days from the date of issue

  • Effective Date: The licence becomes effective the day after it is signed

Please contact the office to book an appointment or to ask questions about eligibility and requirements. We aim to make the process straightforward and stress-free.
