Certified True Copies & Notarized Documents
As a Notary Public, I provide services for the certification and authentication of true copies of original documents.
A Certified True Copy is a photocopy, or print out of an original document that has been examined and verified by a Notary Public as a true, complete, and unaltered reproduction of the original.
Certified true copies are often required for official purposes, including immigration applications, academic admissions, professional licensing, legal matters, and more - where the original document cannot be submitted.
Important Requirements:
The original document must be presented at the time of the appointment. No exceptions will be made under any circumstances. This can take the form of the original physical document, or in the case of electronic documentation, from the original online source, reviewed and examined by the Notary Public ie, MyCreds.
It is preferred that we make the copies onsite as part of the certification process, to ensure accuracy and proper handling.
If you require colour copies, please bring your own colour photocopies along with the original document.
We are only able to produce black and white copies.
Certification Process
When certifying a document as a true copy, the Notary will carefully examine the original document and compare it to the copy provided. The copy must be complete, clear, and legible to be accepted.
If everything is in order, the Notary will apply a notarial stamp directly to the copy, which includes a statement certifying that it is a true copy of the original. The stamp is accompanied by the official seal and signature of the Notary Public.
This process confirms that the copy matches the original, but does not verify the authenticity of the original document itself.
